Queen Bee Communications ∙ PR, marketing, events, and a wealth of experience

Good communication can make an enormous difference to a business. It can introduce a brand to new audiences, build its reputation, create conversations, generate opportunities, and, perhaps most importantly, make sure the right people understand exactly what makes that business special.

That is where Queen Bee Communications comes in. Led by Marie Carter, Queen Bee Communications brings together PR, marketing, events, creative thinking, and more than two decades of industry experience to help businesses tell their stories and get noticed for the right reasons.

∙ More than 26 years in communications ∙

Marie has spent more than 26 years working in PR and communications, giving her an enormous amount of experience to draw on when working with clients. PR may sit at the heart of what she does, but Marie takes a much wider view of every business she works with. Rather than looking at press coverage, social media, events, campaigns, and marketing as separate activities, she considers how they can complement one another and contribute to the bigger picture.

It’s an approach that means communications aren’t simply about getting a business seen. They’re about deciding what it should be saying, who it needs to reach, where those conversations should be happening, and how everything can work together more effectively.

∙ From independent businesses to household names ∙

One of the strengths of Queen Bee Communications is the breadth of businesses Marie has worked with during her career. Her experience includes national and recognisable names such as Hugo Boss, Harley-Davidson, Oxfam, Greene King, Twycross Zoo, Sudeley Castle & Gardens, Community Integrated Care, LightSpeed Broadband, and Brass Monkey, alongside consultancy work for agencies.

But Queen Bee isn’t only about the big names. Marie also works closely with smaller and independent businesses, bringing the same strategic thinking, enthusiasm, and creativity to businesses regardless of their size. That mix of experience is particularly valuable. It means Marie can take knowledge gained from major campaigns and established brands and apply it in a way that is realistic, useful, and achievable for an independent business.

∙ Creating events people remember ∙

Events are another important part of Queen Bee Communications. Marie has experience delivering everything from conferences and awards ceremonies to launches, press events, and influencer experiences, taking care of the many moving parts that turn an idea into a successful event. Crucially, the thinking doesn’t stop when the guests go home.

A great event can provide stories, photographs, social content, press opportunities, relationships, and conversations that continue long afterwards. By combining event management with PR and marketing expertise, Marie can help businesses make much more of the opportunity than simply delivering a successful day or evening.

∙ PR built around relationships ∙

For Queen Bee Communications, successful PR is about far more than sending out a press release and hoping someone picks it up. Marie can provide ongoing press office support as well as develop individual campaigns, creative activations, experiential ideas, and attention-grabbing PR opportunities.

Underpinning all of it is something rather less complicated: good relationships. Understanding journalists, audiences, clients, and the stories people genuinely want to hear helps Queen Bee create communications that feel relevant and interesting rather than simply adding to the noise.

∙ Communications and Confidence Clinic ∙

Marie has also created a service specifically for smaller businesses that know their communications could be working harder but aren’t necessarily sure where to begin. The Communications and Confidence Clinic gives business owners access to Marie’s experience without requiring them to commit to a large ongoing PR campaign.

It begins with a one-hour consultation where Marie gets under the skin of the business, looking at where it is now, what it wants to achieve, and any particular challenges standing in the way. She then goes away and does the homework. Marie researches the business, its competitors, target audiences, existing communications, and opportunities before bringing everything together into a bespoke communications bible.

A second session is then used to work through the recommendations and turn them into practical next steps. The idea is that businesses come away not simply with a list of suggestions, but with a much clearer understanding of their messaging, content, communications, and how they can put it all into practice. At £250, the clinic provides smaller businesses with an accessible way to tap into senior-level communications expertise and come away with a strategy they can actually use.

∙ And then there’s Riley… ∙

Queen Bee Communications also has a rather shorter, four-legged member of the team.

Riley the Dachshund has developed an audience of his own through Instagram account @Life_of_Riley2021, where he champions dog-friendly places and works with brands on collaborations.

As well as providing plenty of personality, Riley offers another creative route for appropriate partnerships, particularly for businesses wanting to reach dog owners and audiences interested in dog-friendly days out and destinations.

∙ Big experience, very personal service ∙

Perhaps the best way to describe Queen Bee Communications is as a small business with a very big bank of experience behind it. Clients work directly with Marie, benefiting from more than 26 years of knowledge alongside the flexibility, personal attention, and enthusiasm that comes from working with an independent communications specialist.

Whether a business needs ongoing PR support, a creative campaign, an event brought to life, or simply some expert eyes on what it is currently doing, Queen Bee Communications can help bring greater focus and purpose to the way it communicates. And in a world where every business is competing for attention, having someone who knows how to find the story, understand the audience, and get people talking can be rather useful indeed.
